Dr. Candace Carson

My name is Dr. Candace Carson. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University in 1996. I then married my college sweetheart, who became a US Marine. I traveled with him to several states and military bases for a couple of years before attending Veterinary School and in 2003 where I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. Initially, I worked at a small animal hospital in Mission Viejo, CA for a couple of years before moving to Arizona where I worked in Scottsdale for 10 years, then joined Bark Avenue in June of 2015. My interests in Veterinary Medicine are broad including behavior and pain management, internal medicine, general surgery, and dentistry. Many pets are anxious when visiting their Vet, so I prefer to take my time to let them get to know me. I often sit on the floor with dogs and cats, letting them sit in my lap (size permitting!). My husband and I live in the area with our 2 boys and 2 dogs. In my free time, I enjoy camping, hiking, reading, gardening and serving in the Children Ministry at my church.
